Authenticity
I have spent the last few episodes talking about how thoughts ourselves and from others effect how we show up in our lives.
I am talking about Authenticity.
Authenticity...
This buzz word is thrown around frequently in today's world.
We want our experts to be authentic.
We want our products to be authentic.
We want the people in our lives to be authentic.
WE want to be authentic.
Frankly this is easier said than done. I have struggled with this for much of my life...
In my youth, I often suppressed my voice and feelings because I knew my thoughts went against the norms.
My authentic self was not safe to share...
In my early professional life, I held my tongue because I was unfortunately part of an organization that frequently did not value the input of their women employees.
Even in my personal life, I realize looking back that I at times would associate with certain groups of people who spent much of their time speaking negatively about others around them.
And I found myself mimicking this negative talk to fit in...
Thankfully, I have made some very conscious choices to move more into my authentic voice.
It has meant some major changes...
Career changes...
Relationship changes...
I know what you are thinking.
"Julie, those changes sound scary!"
It's true, change can be scary but I promise we can navigate them together.
Authenticity requires vulnerability. Let me be your guide to start this shift toward your more authentic you.
